Gilding on old paper - with Wunda or Aqua Size

I'd like to do some raised letters on a piece of paper dated 1902. I know must of you folks do surface gilding on things a little larger than this, but I'm wondering about what kind of "raising" I'm going to get from either of these products. I've never used either, and have done no illumination.

Illumination gilding is normally done on "fish" glue or hyde glue, also mucilage. Some cornstarch can be added for more body for "raised" effect. Rabbit skin glue tends to have some body by itself. Experiment to check the effect you desire. The gold itself makes the illumination look dimensional as well.

The acrylic sizes are relatively low profile so they would need much more body to have the raised effect. They do work well on papers though.
