PL Premium is awesome adhesive but it is not rated for unfinished Aluminum. The Aluminum must at least be primed with an etching primer. It will turn loose from bare Aluminum in a couple years.

The tannin in the wood is water soluble and will bleed through an almost infinite number of layers of water based paint and leave a darkened stain on your finish. For me, it has only been a problem on light colored areas. If painting a dark background, it is not noticeable.
