Here's the front cover from the Palm book Danny Baronian purchased from the Glawson estate. Danny may know the date, but for now I will leave it open at circa 1900.

I'll post a few scans from it in a while.

This is the version that I vectorized to create the Palm's Trilogy CD set. Rick Glawson felt it was circa 1880s.

Just a trivia bit about the Trilogy...I used this cover art for the cover of the CDs. It's the only image associated with the CDs that was ran through Streamline to vectorize instead of hand drawn with the Illustrator drawing tools. I may be a glutton for punishment, but I'm not nuts! I started to try to draw it and a half hour in decided that that wasn't the best idea I'd come up with that day.

Mike, I don't know if it would help you in dating these catalogues but you could always ask the Chicago Historical Society when the Great Northern Building was built. They are a large and wonderful institution. The relevant page is:

I checked through the book and found no dates whatsoever.

This was a book Rick kept in his safe and was wrapped in a clear envelope. Even now when taking it out , small pieces fall off the cover, it's quite fragile.

Most of the images are quite small but there are other sizes. Altogether there are quite a few images.

Get your hands on a few books like these and you see how additive collecting them can be.

Rick walked up to me during the last Conclave and asked me "would you like some bookmarks?"

I don't think the scan does them justice, but at least you can see the great detail. Back in the Palm Bros. day, you would select the design that you wanted from the catalogue. Decals were sold in sheets, from which you would cut them from the page as needed. Similar to the old Letraset sheets, only they were decals.
