Conclave 27

Post by Larry White »

Dean Ross graciously hosted the Conclave this year down in Bakersfield, CA.
Noel Weber designed this years commemorative panel. We had a lively time!

That was fun, apart from all the Screen Cleaning that is............A great gathering of old friends, some very creative techniques, it's always interesting to give a group of people the same original layout then stand back for a couple of days to see what evolves, maybe as more get finished we could show a few more examples here............27 years is along time, I missed the first two I think?....I think Frank Maesen has attended more Conclaves than anyone else to my knowledge, It was good to see him & Sue again. Some were missing, some have gone, some new talent is emerging.................

I'm so bummed that I did not make this meet....we were RVing in California, but with two other couples travelling with us, it just did not work out this time.
It certainly would have been nice to see Frank and Sue again.

Very nice photo of all you gilders.
Dean and John, thanks for hosting this meet.
John, have you moved to Boise yet?
Noel, nice project ....but where is the pink?..ha ha.
Kim, I notice long sleeves and even jackets in the photo....must be cooler than Arizona?

Larry, did you have 'the Rib Platter for Two'...MMMmmm Yum!
Tony, how is your daughter doing? Still in Seattle area? Thanks for posting last year's project....your water colour technique is beautiful, very vibrant.

Roderick, we didn't get close enough to stop in this trip....we spent most of our time in Vegas, Yuma, Palm Springs and then Aneheim.

I hope to attend this meet next year for sure.....if you will have me, of course!

Until then....keep those photos coming and happy gilding! :)

Jenco, we been gilding together for a long time.
Don't know how long, but long....
ain't no one I'd rather gild with, except for maybe Dickinson....

I see you found yourself a frame over at Insty Frames...
or is it from the Thrift Store?

I'd feel much better if you'd post a picture of it hangin' on the wall,
I just might get the feeling that this one might not get broken.

Ain't no one faster on the gild than him?...
Faster than Jenco!?.....Nobody!....

You win........ I'm finished!....

Its cool how much different these can turn out even though it is the same layout. I like where you put the gold and the wood Larry, Usually you see a wood frame and a gilded glass border , you did a gilded frame with a wood glass border, then more gold on the art work.
