Hi all,
I was doing a little end of the year maintenance on the site and bumped into this old page with Steven Parrish.
I don't see where I ever had it linked to other pages, so it might not have been easy to find.

I am not sure if it is set up exactly right, but if you double click on the little image I believe it will play for you.
Here's the rest of Steven's pages: http://www.theletterheads.com/lhparts/parrish.html

Re: Why Banks?
Parrish has a point up to a point. I would have to say that these
days present new and skewed times. Banks do have money, that's
a given. Banks can steal your money, that's a fact too.
The case, Denver Post a couple Sundays ago in of all places
Kent Smith's hometown of Greely, Co. The New Frontier Bank
got siezed, lots of that happening these days as you know.
The victim, Chuck Miller I believe, was informed by the police that
he had been robbed by the bank. Seems there were some
unscrupulous people on the board that had effectively pilfered his
account of $2-3 million. FDIC good for $250k as I think. Chuck
had to declare bankruptcy. He has been able to get some of it back
but mostly a situation that would be beyond most people's imagination.
Robbed by the very bank he banked at. Marvelous.

** facts are mostly correct. Kent can elaborate.

Re: Why Banks?
Facts are mostly correct. They nailed us too as we had accounts and a line of credit which with their name trashed, was difficult to replace elsewhere. Total cost to the community about $260 Million.
Still one of my favorite Steven Parrish stories and he had many. It was more fun in person though when you could prod him and get him to elaborate on many topics.
