Hi .
I have just returned a few weeks back from a lovely family holiday in Las Vegas. We met up with Mark and Rose Oatis and Ray Reyna, Mark's step son,and Mark's nephew Paul. They were great hosts and were very welcoming. We were invited to their home in Henderson where Mark and Rose prepared a brilliant meal for all of my family.( killer steaks! ) good enough for any deadman at Machine...! His house was full of great letterhead projects and photographs of fellow letterhead pieces of work. Mark gave me a tour of Yesco Sign Company,Las Vegas, where there was some incredible and inspirational works being created. Mark leads a team of top designers creating imaginative sign work.
Also at the site he showed me various talented artists that were creating sculptures and blown glass. One of these artists at Yesco is Evgeni Vodenitcharov at http://www.iconsculpting.com. this mans work was amazing!. Attached some photo's of us clowning around in front of the famous Las Vegas Sign.
I recommend a Vegas holiday! what a place...!

Doug.
That was one place I never got the chance to visit,I heard about the graveyard for old signs and will get back and see that on my next trip.
They have done such an incredible job of all the hotels there, the details on all the major shops ,restaurants, clubs is quite amazing. Mark was saying the Venitian ceilings were all hand painted onto canvas back in Italy. The work in that place aloan must run into thousands of hours.
Will get my other photos sorted and post them soon.
