I finished restoring this glass sign yesterday. To be honest I was glad to see the last of this one as it seemed to go on forever. The paint I used to silver over works incredibly well for chemical silvering but still is nerve racking pouring it over a good few hours of gilding and signwriting . This is how it came out, I at to copy from the original photos. the graduation of colour is hand blended.

Incredible... I put up a post asking about a Pabst Beer Mirror restoration and have seen no replies from Stateside participants here. Would you be interested in such a project? I realize shipping would be painful, but I have to ask.

Round these parts, I'd be lookin' to David Trujillo as the Master Restorer. He's in Long Beach, California. He just might be interested. He can be contacted at:

Oh, and nice work Dave...as usual. Those blue blended letter centers seem to be traditionally English, ey?

Re: 1900 Dreyfuss Mirror
Larry. I posted that probably at the same time there mate. I was hunting for his email as well. glad you found it..
Yes the blends seem to be the norm on some of these earlier pieces. Lots of breweries and Distilleries had this glass look. I seen a large panel a few weeks back while in Dorchester, this mirror was huge and had been extremely well made with some great blends around acid text ,I wish I had a camera at the time so I could have shown you guy's on here. It was 12ft x 10ft and it looked like about 8ml glass . biggest one I have ever seen and in one piece.
