This was done with a brush. Not in any way like that video though... A wee more carefully.

Re: Vertical and/or horizontal for glue chip process
Robert, I've brushed the glue on after letting it thicken a bit with good results. You've got to work fast getting as much glue on before it gets too dry. I was able to get a few letters at a time, then reheating the glue when it got too sticky to brush on. I only reheated the glue enough to get a b...

My neihbors garage
I was walking towards my place and my neihbors garage was open. I saw from a distance a glass sign. I recognized it right away. He wasn't around so I caught up with him a few days later and inquired about the sign in his garage. He said there was 3 of them. He was not aware that He should be taking ...

Re: Chipping question
Thanks Dave,
I believe I was being a bit too critical. After looking again this morning it is rather
hard to notice. I will go ahead with the bright outline as planned and live with it.

Chipping question
I just did some chipping. I usually use the asphaltum method when there is fine detail. There was some fine details on this piece in question and I kind of jumped the gun and used the mask method. Everything turned out well except for a few areas where I got some plinks. There will be no hiding them...

Re: Heat Bent Glass Signs with Paint
Very nice Dave. I sure wouldn't mind having my own kiln for things like this. I have access to one but need to use it sparingly so I don't become a nusence. I recently bought a new airbrush and the person whom I bought it from knows I like to do glass signs. This person alerted me to glass paint tha...

Pat, I think you're right. It looks like pearl.
I still like the idea of a chipped white gold center with a bright 23k outline.
I'm wondering if that has been done, I'm sure it has.
Seems like it would look real good. Can't wait to do it.

Yes Dave, thanks for posting these pics. In the cadbury chocolate picture it appears to be a white gold, chipped?, with a yellow gold bright outline. I really like that look. I noticed on Erik's link... the yosemity beer signs.
They sure got about the nicest chip going on in the letters.
I wonder how they got it so good?
Those pieces are sold for a nice price too.

Gilmore Gasoline
These are "globes" for a vintage gas pump circa 1922. The artwork is the same except the client wanted some gold in the design. The glass was allready slumped so I had to let the glue thicken and then brushed it on. It worked out good. These are backlit so there was some airbrush work invo...
