Perfect explanation Pat. I can still buy the lead rolls over this way but vinyl is so much better. Thanks for the info Bruce on the varnishes, I have had my best success with oil size and also rubbing varnish / resin gel/ and damar varnish, when I get time I have some real nice lithos to show you th...

Hi Bruce. Been meaning to ask you for some time your thoughts on what was used for pictorial transfers that were applied to the back of those panels? I know some were painted by hand but also alot were paper litho transfers which held up very well. Lee littlewood made a alot of research into watersl...

Hey there Willy. Larry is right on the nail. It's a traditional English way of embossing text and backgrounds sponged with Brunswick black or Ashaltum. When you were here we acid etched with mica but on this sign and some others its been lead foil backed and then stippled with the Brunswick once it'...

Re: Toughened glass
Hi Bruce. I would normally use this type of paint for the silvering process but this time I wanted something harder and stronger attached to the glass for the signs I am making. No other reason just a reliable paint that stays adheared to the glass.

Toughened glass
Hi Everyone. I have a question concerning the black two part epoxy nazdar paint ADE 52. I’m painting this two part ink directly onto toughened glass ( I think it's known as tempered in the States) I am wondering if this is a problem for adhesion and strength? Would it be the same as painting directl...

Album cover critic
A fan of John Mayers work sent me this link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3KPSh0hcTc
interesting critic, reminds me of a slimmer version of Boris Johnson, London's Mayor! at least they are talking about it. Funny how we sign painters view art differntly to some.

I guess it could be Lee, various ways to go with these shades as you know. It was a good workshop, Will's a very good signwriter.
He may come in at somepoint and post his website.
Thanks Lee

This looks great in the kitchen area Jeroen. Your girlfriend must be happy, I remember you saying about matching up colours! Perfect match.
By the time I come to Amsterdam you and Erik should have the place covered with gilded glass. Nice job mate, glad you enjoyed the workshop.

Gold Leaf workshop with Will Lynes, England
Hi. Here are a few pictures of a gilding workshop we had this last week with a very talented signwriter from Sydney, Australia. Will Lynes spent the week here in Torquay creating some lovely panels of glass. I designed this one panel with his name on and also some smaller panels of artwork that were...
