Re: No news?
Since I did not post a lot on the forum lately I thought it would be nice to show some projects I done recently. Re: double paned window issues
Andrew, Like Mike mentioned, I would certainly do the job on the outside of the window. Here an example I did in Amsterdam, look at the glare in the glass and how well the lettering pops out. http://www.schitterend.eu/userfiles/paginas/79-letterschilderen/original_handpainted_heineken_beer_lightbox_...

Thank you Bruce.
Tyler,
Score, snap, sand, polish
With freestanding black glass this is absolutely necessary, due to the brilliance of the glass.

Vance,
I just looked at your website again and you make some beautifull work!
Lots of goldleaf giving the handcrafted signs just that extra touch.

Re: Old Pictures : Paris (France) 1900-2013
These are great Francois! It is a shame that the original wallpaintings are long gone now. The style and artwork of paris around 1900 is so beautifull. I made it my goal to reproduce it in any way i can. Have you seen my Parisian boulangerie glass reproductions? Boulangerie glass http://www.schitter...

Re: fixing small mirror problems
Hello Megan, It is all about the look the client wants. If he wants a perfect mirror, I allways tell them to buy a new one in the department store. If they want the mirror to be original with some ageing in it you can silver over the current layer with chemicals. Laying silverleaf or 12 crt goldleaf...

Re: Very interesting ebay find
I desided with reluctance not to buy it.
You can only spend your money once and I want to go on nice vacations this year.
Besides that the seller sold it in three volumes seperatly, If i would buy them I would want them all three.

Here in the Netherlands (Amsterdam) they used to paint on the outside as well. After some 60plus years they still look pretty good. Ofcourse they used leadbased white paints wich eats into the glass. It looks very nice Ciaran, If i look at your work i think the 12crt leaf does it make more original looking. If these panels are to perfect it looks like they are machinemade. Silvering costs a lot of money also, setting up the silvering takes 4 hours at my place (i cook up my own silvering chemical...

It is a hidden page a visitor can not find it, because links can be ugly on a website. But google can find it. Indeed it is a full time job. Everybody needs to work on their linkbuilding. But when you see the results it is fun and a kind of an addiction to see the result come together after a few we...
