I think painting/drawing big letters sounds good for me; cathartic. And in just the past month I can tell I've improved, but this is a long-term thing and I can't wait to look back in ten years.
Thanks for your reply.

Roman Alphabet Practice
I pencil-and-inked this basic Roman alphabet yesterday for some practice. It was more a practice of patience and discipline, both of which I struggle with, more than anything else. All my mistakes are blindingly obvious to me. Curves, obviously, are hard, as well as keeping the serifs consistent and...

Re: Tornado through Moore, OK
Larry, we're right on a fault line here in SLC too, which they say is due for some activity and that it's supposed to be big, which is easy to forget about since we don't get many seismic grumblings otherwise. But every once in a while I remember and then spend the next several weeks scouting out pl...

Wood prep
I have another basic beginner question for y'all.
What's the best way to prep and finish a wood sign that will be outdoors? What about metal?

Re: Projectors
As for whether on not using projectors is OK - I have been building ads for the last 8 years, and the clients care about the final result, not how I got it done. If you can use something like that effectively and efficiently and get the desired result, why not? I guess I'm just worried about "...

Re: Projectors
Thanks for all the responses! I guess it's true there are potentially many places in which to draw a line. Dan, I like what you said about using technology while also trying to stay in touch with the hands-on. I'm still not sure how I feel about projectors; I think I just need to try different ways ...

Projectors
Hey everyone, I have a question. So in my endeavors to learn the art of sign painting, I posted an ad on Craigslist looking for a mentor or for a local sign painter willing to give me tips, or point me in the direction of all that. I figured it'd be a long shot, but what the hey, you don't know unti...

Non-alcoholic pub, in Ireland? That's a thing?
Beautiful mirrors though. So ornate.

Re: Practice Materials
Thanks for the tip! I admit I've been a little nervous to try painting on glass so that would be good practice anyway.

Hi guys! I'm a newb also - Jon, I hope you don't mind me piggybacking on your thread.
I have a question about the real estate signs mentioned earlier. What are they, and how do you get them?
