Re: bubbles in reverse painted black
Hi Roderick, I have lost my faith in 1 shot. I never know when, or if, it is dry. 1st bad experience, but not the only one, was laying down 1 shot on precision board, I thought I had let it dry, then put on a sandblast mask, when I pulled the mask, off came sections of the 1 shot. Has anyone used ur...

Blake! I know that guy. A hot knife and a bottle of cheap whiskey. Beware the High Plains remedy.

Re: Original Dead Men
Hi Pat, just a word of support. Sounds like you have the knowledge about your toe, but being between a rock and a hard spot, no pun intended, is pretty rough. I had a golf ball sized lump on my elbow after digging sign post holes in rocky soil. Like you I kept waking up in pain and finding new cuss ...

Re: Gilding incised lettering in stone
Roderick, when I guild raw stone I seal with One shot imitation gold with hardener. La Franc 12 hr. If the stone is a polished surface, slop will not be a problem. I purposely slop over the edges, being careful to not make puddles in the depressions, then before guilding with the 23k, razor blade ov...

Re: Memorial Conclave Photos Feb 11
Thanks, Susan & Larry, for the photos. Larry, I just don't care what those flatlanders say. Them small lines is just fine. Next time make em a little tighter for us that still can clean our own specs. Bryce

Re: Memorial
As usual with his postings, Patrick is spot on. Exception, I used 60 grit silica sand, use once & toss. The panel didn't seem to layout the way I usually like to work, Gold incised letters, which pick up the light much better than raised, and have the gold next to the black. Held my breath until...

Re: Paint mask choices
I have been using Avery 3090 on aircraft for a long time. These aircraft are work horses with rivets everywhere and more, so a slight overspray, slight, is ok with the customer. Have done 4' Sheriffs badges, 6 color, 4 mask jobs, avery did a fine job. Never had a problem report from paint department...

Re: Computer Sign Software
I have used Flexisign since their early existence. I have a love hate relationship with the program. It seems they write the program for PCs and Macs come as an afterthought. I still get crashes, and had ok luck with tec support and very bad tec support, depending on who you are in communication wit...
